Yokogawa AXW150 Model Code Explained
How to Read the Yokogawa AXW150 Model Number
Yokogawa electromagnetic flowmeters are supplied with detailed model numbers that identify the mechanical, electrical and application-specific configuration.
For procurement and replacement projects, the complete model number is important because two flowmeters from the same product family may have different process connections, lining materials, electrode materials, power supplies or communication functions.
The model discussed on this page is:
AXW150-GA000AE2HL112B-2JA12/CH/SCT
AXW150 Model Code Breakdown

Why the Complete Model Number Matters
The nominal size alone does not fully identify an electromagnetic flowmeter.
For example, an AXW150 may be configured with different:
- Process connections
- Lining materials
- Electrode materials
- Grounding arrangements
- Cable entries
- Power supplies
- Communication protocols
- Display languages
- Certification options
- Tag plate requirements
A replacement flowmeter should therefore not be selected only by searching for “AXW150”.
The complete model number should be compared with the existing instrument documentation.
Important Model Code Checks
1. Nominal Size
AXW150 identifies a nominal size of 150 mm, commonly referred to as 6 inch.
2. Process Connection
The code AE2 identifies an EN PN16 clamp-type process connection for this configuration.
Do not automatically describe this code as a flange connection. The actual process connection must be confirmed from the model code and dimensional documentation.
3. Lining
The code H identifies natural hard rubber lining.
Lining selection should be checked against:
- Process liquid
- Chemical compatibility
- Operating temperature
- Operating pressure
- Abrasion conditions
4. Electrode Material
The code L identifies 316L stainless steel electrodes.
The electrode material should be reviewed against the conductivity and chemical characteristics of the measured liquid.
5. Communication and I/O
The code JA identifies HART 7 communication with Type A I/O for this configuration.
6. Power Supply
The code -2 identifies the 24 V AC/DC power supply configuration.
7. Display
The display code identifies the available local display language configuration.
For this model, the display is configured for English and Chinese.
Model Number Verification for Replacement Projects
Before placing an order, provide:
- Existing model number
- Nameplate photograph
- Existing product photograph
- Process connection photograph
- Required quantity
- Application details
- Delivery destination
The model number on a website, purchase order and product nameplate should be consistent.
