Product Overview
E+H Proline Prosonic Flow G 500 Ultrasonic Time-of-Flight Flowmeter
Proline Prosonic Flow G 500
This advanced ultrasonic flowmeter is engineered specifically for precise volumetric and mass flow measurement of process gases and natural gas. It features a robust, condensate-insensitive sensor design and real-time pressure-temperature compensation for maximum reliability under fluctuating conditions.
Core Measurement Principle & Gas Quality Analysis
Operating on the transit time difference principle, the device measures gas flow velocity independently of the gas composition. When integrated with the advanced gas analysis package and built-in pressure/temperature cells, it goes beyond standard gas flow measurement. It enables continuous, 24/7 calculation of critical gas properties such as calorific value, Wobbe index, molar mass, methane fraction, and density—making it an ideal natural gas flow meter and process gas meter.
Robust Design and Uncompromised Reliability
Built to withstand harsh industrial environments, the wetted parts utilize high-grade 316L stainless steel and titanium (Grade 2), offering superior corrosion resistance. The gas flow meter features a specialized sensor design that remains completely immune to condensate accumulation, ensuring high reliability even under humid or wet gas conditions. Furthermore, the introduction of a standard digital ISEM electronics module inside the sensor housing enables simple transmitter replacement and stable digital flow transmitter performance.
Flexible Integration & Operation
The flow metering system supports extensive system integration via HART protocol and Modbus RS485, featuring up to four freely configurable inputs and outputs (current outputs, pulse/frequency/switch outputs, relays, and status inputs). Operators can easily configure and monitor the industrial instrumentation locally using the 4-line touch control display or remotely via a web browser, FieldCare, DeviceCare, and secure WLAN access points. Integrated Heartbeat Technology further allows for traceable verification and diagnostics without interrupting ongoing flow measurement processes.

FAQ
-
Q1: Does this flowmeter cause any pressure drop in the pipeline? A1: No, the sensor design ensures that no pressure drop occurs when the device is installed in a pipe matching its nominal diameter.
-
Q2: Can the device measure wet or humid gas accurately? A2: Yes, the sensor is specially designed to be insensitive to condensate, providing high reliability and accurate measurement even under wet or changing gas conditions.
-
Q3: What communication protocols are supported for remote monitoring? A3: The device supports HART protocol (via 4-20 mA current output) and Modbus RS485, alongside integrated web server access via a service interface (CDI-RJ45) or optional WLAN.
-
Q4: Is it possible to perform verification without interrupting the active process? A4: Yes, with the integrated Heartbeat Technology package, traceable functional testing and verification can be performed on-site without stopping the media flow.
