Yokogawa ADMAG SF Magnetic Flow Meter
ADMAG SF
The Yokogawa ADMAG SF Series Magnetic Flow Meter is engineered to provide stable, highly accurate flow measurement for standard industrial facilities and liquid processes. Utilizing a dual-frequency pulse excitation method and field-proven electrode and liner designs, it ensures robust performance across conductive fluids. Equipped with a user-friendly dot-matrix LCD, infrared switches, and support for BRAIN communication, it streamlines daily operation and parameter configuration without requiring enclosure removal.
Proven Measurement Principle & High Accuracy
Operating on Faraday’s law of electromagnetic induction, the ADMAG SF measures the electromotive force generated when a conductive liquid flows through a magnetic field. This allows for precise calculation of flow velocity, volumetric flow, and mass flow. It offers a standard accuracy of ±0.5% of the flow rate under reference conditions, ensuring dependable data for critical process control and monitoring.
Robust Lining & Electrode Options
To match diverse chemical compatibility requirements, the meter features high-quality wetted parts. The carbon-fluorine PFA lining provides exceptional corrosion resistance for general chemical fluids and features an external insertion-type electrode structure. For larger diameters, the PTFE lining utilizes an internal insertion design. Available electrode materials include 316L Stainless Steel, Nickel Alloy (Hastelloy C-276 equivalent), Tantalum, and Titanium, ensuring optimal durability against corrosive process media.
Advanced Multi-Functional Display & Operation
The ADMAG SF incorporates a high-visibility dot-matrix LCD equipped with a backlight and three infrared (IR) switches. Operators can easily check process variables, configure parameters, and execute zero-adjustments directly through the glass window without opening the housing, minimizing maintenance time. The interface supports multiple languages and features NAMUR NE107 diagnostic categorization, displaying clear error messages and troubleshooting guides directly on the screen.
Flexible Outputs and Output Modes
The transmitter provides robust signal processing with a 4–20mA DC active current output (featuring BRAIN communication signals superimposed), alongside a passive transistor contact pulse/status/frequency output. Advanced operational features include a multi-range function, forward/reverse flow measurement, absolute range functionality, low-cut filtering with hysteresis, and a built-in totalizer with three independent accumulators for comprehensive volume and mass tracking.
Reliable Build and Safety Standards
Designed for harsh industrial environments, the flow meter features an IP66/IP67 protective enclosure rating and incorporates built-in lightning protection on power, input/output, and signal circuits. It supports both wafer and flanged process connections (compliant with ASME, EN, and GB standards), making it a versatile and dependable choice for global industrial automation and fluid management systems.

FAQ
-
Q: Can I adjust the flow meter parameters without opening the housing cover?
A: Yes, the ADMAG SF is equipped with three infrared (IR) switches located beneath the display glass, allowing you to operate and configure settings safely from the outside without removing the cover.
-
Q: What is the minimum fluid conductivity required for accurate measurement?
A: The fluid must have an electrical conductivity of at least 5 μS/cm to ensure stable and accurate electromagnetic flow measurement.
-
Q: Does the flow meter support bidirectional flow measurement?
A: Yes, it supports forward and reverse flow measurement, differential flow accumulation, and absolute range capabilities via status outputs.
-
Q: How is zero adjustment performed after installation?
A: Zero adjustment can be easily executed through the display menu or via BRAIN communication tools once the pipeline is completely filled with the measurement fluid and flow is halted using shutoff valves.
