E+H FMP50 Guided-Wave Radar Level Meter
FMP50
Designed for continuous level measurement in liquids, the FMP50 utilizes advanced time-of-flight technology for reliable performance. It ensures maximum measurement reliability even under variable process conditions and low dielectric constants.
Advanced Measuring Principle & Technology
Operating on the time-of-flight (ToF) principle, also known as Time Domain Reflectometry (TDR), the FMP50 guides high-frequency electromagnetic pulses down a probe (either a rigid rod or flexible rope) to the product surface. Upon reflection, the electronic evaluation unit calculates the exact distance and converts it into precise level, volume, or mass data. Enhanced by multi-echo tracking algorithms and PulseMaster software, the instrument successfully filters out internal fixture and false echoes, guaranteeing dependable readings even in challenging variable conditions.

FAQ
-
Q: Can the FMP50 be used for interface measurement? A: The FMP50 is primarily designed and optimized for level measurement in liquids. For dedicated interface measurement applications, please consult alternative Endress+Hauser models like the FMP51 or FMP52.
-
Q: How do I shorten the probe if it is too long for my tank? A: Rod probes can be cut using a standard saw at the bottom end. Rope probes can be shortened using a saw or bolt cutters after loosening the set screws on the probe weight and reapplying them securely.
-
Q: Is it possible to configure the device without opening the housing? A: Yes, models equipped with the optional Bluetooth module can be easily configured, operated, and monitored wirelessly using the SmartBlue app on a smartphone or tablet.
-
Q: What should I do if there are internal obstacles causing false echoes? A: You can perform an interference echo suppression (mapping) using the “Confirm distance” wizard via the local display or operating tool to ignore internal fixtures.
