E+H Levelflex FMP50 Guided Wave Radar Level Transmitter
Levelflex FMP50
The Endress+Hauser Levelflex FMP50 is a compact, continuous guided wave radar (TDR) level transmitter engineered for liquid storage, utility tanks, and water management applications. Measuring high-frequency radar pulses guided along a probe, it provides reliable, maintenance-free level measurement independent of fluid density changes, turbulence, foam, or internal tank obstructions.
Reliable Guided Wave Radar Level Measurement for Liquid Utilities
Accurate and continuous liquid level measurement in storage tanks, buffer vessels, and utility water systems is essential for smooth plant automation and inventory management. The Endress+Hauser Levelflex FMP50 Guided Wave Radar Level Transmitter provides a high-precision, cost-effective solution utilizing Time-Domain Reflectometry (TDR) pulse technology. By guiding high-frequency radar pulses directly along a probe, the FMP50 evaluates level reflections with exceptional stability, ensuring reliable readings regardless of tank surface turbulence, foam formation, or shifting fluid dielectric properties.
Immune to Process Distortions & Vessel Geometry
Unlike non-contact ultrasonic or traditional pressure transmitters that are easily affected by steam, heavy foam, ambient temperature shifts, or changing fluid densities, guided wave radar measurement is fundamentally immune to atmospheric or media variations. The radar pulses travel down the probe shaft directly to the liquid surface, returning a clean reflection to the transmitter electronics.
The FMP50 probe design allows direct installation into narrow nozzles or tanks with internal structural pipes without signal loss or false reflections. It offers rod probe lengths up to 4 meters (13 ft) and flexible rope probe lengths up to 12 meters (39 ft), catering to a wide variety of vertical and horizontal storage vessel geometries.
Integrated Heartbeat Diagnostics & Bluetooth Setup
Field commissioning, parameter setup, and ongoing diagnostic verification are simplified through the FMP50’s integrated Bluetooth wireless connectivity. Plant operators can wirelessly access device settings, review live echo curves, and perform troubleshooting using the Endress+Hauser SmartBlue app on any smartphone or tablet from up to 10 meters away.
The device features Endress+Hauser Heartbeat Technology, providing continuous internal health self-checks and traceable, audit-ready verification reports without interrupting line operations. Designed in accordance with IEC 61508, the FMP50 is certified for SIL2/SIL3 functional safety applications, offering peace of mind in critical high-level alarm systems.
Flexible digital communication options include 2-wire 4 to 20 mA HART, PROFIBUS PA, and Foundation Fieldbus protocols, allowing seamless automation integration into supervisory PLC, SCADA, or DCS architectures.

FAQ
Q1: Is the Endress+Hauser Levelflex FMP50 supplied as an authentic original unit? A: Yes. We supply 100% genuine, brand-new Endress+Hauser instruments complete with original factory serial numbers, calibration reports, and official documentation.
Q2: What is the main advantage of guided wave radar over non-contact ultrasonic level sensors? A: Guided wave radar is immune to surface turbulence, heavy foam, steam, vacuum, and changing fluid dielectric constants or temperatures. The radar pulse is directly guided down the probe, ensuring stable measurement where ultrasonic sensors fail.
Q3: Can I shorten the FMP50 rod or rope probe in the field? A: Yes. Both the rod and rope probes of the Levelflex FMP50 can be easily cut and shortened in the field to adapt to exact tank height dimensions, with settings quickly updated via the display or Bluetooth app.
Q4: How can I request distributor quotes and confirm delivery lead times? A: Simply submit your required E+H model ordering code, probe length, process connection size, and media type through our inquiry form. Our sales team will provide a prompt, competitive quotation and export delivery timeline.
